Secretary of State spotlights Elzy Milling and Trade

The newest building at Elzy Milling and Trade Inc. holds the general store merchandise.

BELLVILLE — Elzy Milling and Trade in Bellville was recently featured as an August 2021 Business Spotlight by Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

Every month, the Secretary of State’s office highlights several businesses from around the state in a particular industry. For August, in support of agriculture, they chose Elzy Milling and Trade as an example of a family owned, agriculturally based business that has achieved success and received awards.

Elzy Milling and Trade is one of North Central Ohio’s largest livestock feed manufacturers. Serving an eight-county area, it also ranks among the top retailers in pet supplies, grass seeds, bagged fertilizers, garden materials, pond maintenance and more.

Since opening in July of 2011, Elzy Milling and Trade has tripled in size.

Local businesses honored at annual appreciation breakfast

The CCMEP/WIOA and Success Unlimited programs, a collaboration with Catalyst Life Services and Richland County Job & Family Services, hosted their annual Business Appreciation Breakfast Wednesday at the Holiday Inn. They recognized their business partners who employ participants of the CCMEP (Comprehensive Case Management Employment Program), Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Success Unlimited programs.

The programs assist individuals with barriers to their employment and educational goals to gain experience in their desired employment sector. Individuals start out at entry-level positions and receive on-the-job training and mentorship from their worksite supervisors and support from their employment specialists to ensure long-term participant success.

Across its various programs and partnerships, Catalyst and Success Unlimited serve approximately 375 youth and adult participants per year across dozens of worksites throughout Richland County.
