
Small businesses seeking pandemic assistance have another opportunity for relief funding, the Community Foundation of Abilene announced Thursday, with the opening of the second round of the CFA’s COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grant Program.
In the first round of funding for the program, the CFA awarded more than $342,000 to 16 local business.
Funded through grants to the city of Abilene from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, grants will be awarded ranging from $2,500 to $50,000 to eligible business that lost income due to the pandemic.
Applying businesses must be based in Abilene, have had a gross income of less than $750,000 in 2020 and show a loss in income from the previous year. Also, the business owner and/or at least one employee must qualify as low-to-moderate-income based on HUD guidelines.
Applications will be accepted from June 7 through June 30, and applicants will be notified of awards by July 30.
