Minnetonka Orchards, a Minnetrista apple-picking and event center, announced its reopening under new owners Esther and Frank Weigela, who took over from founders Lowell and Phyllis Schaper. … The Washington County Historical Society announced the hiring of Kyle Te Poel as site manager of the Hay Lake School & Johannes Erickson Log House Museums in Scandia.

BEVERAGES

Prestige Beverage Group, a Mendota Heights-based wholesaler and importer of wine and spirits, announced the hire of Kathy Reilly as vice president of marketing and innovation. Reilly previously was category marketing director for food, beverage and essentials at Target Corp.

DEVELOPMENT

Doran Cos., a Bloomington-based residential developer and property management company, announced that Ryan Johnson has been promoted to president and CFO. Johnson joined Doran in 2008 as its senior director of accounting.

Berger Financial Group, Plymouth, announced that Nick Asmus has been named chief executive officer. Asmus is a University of St. Thomas graduate. … Hiway Credit Union, St. Paul, has been honored with a 2021 Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award, sponsored by the Minnesota Credit Union Network and the Credit Union National Association, recognizing credit unions that demonstrate the practical application the movement’s principles in serving its members. … New Market Bank has welcomed Terra Henry as vice president of loan operations. The bank has locations in Lakeville, Prior Lake and Elko New Market.

Allina Health | Aetna, a St. Louis Park-based medical insurer and provider partnership, announced the hire of Monica Nierengarten as chief operations officer. Nierengarten previously was senior director of transformation for HealthHUBs at Aetna.

LAW

Stillwater-based Eckberg Lammers announced that the Mankato City Council has hired the firm to serve as the city’s Civil Municipal and Prosecution counsel. … Moss & Barnett announced that Mary Frances Price has joined the firm’s wealth preservation and estate planning team. … Ballard Spahr announced that Robert E. Tunheim, a Minneapolis-based business and transactions attorney, has been named a 2022 Lawyer of the Year by The Best Lawyers in America.

MANUFACTURING

Winnebago Industries, an Eden Prairie-based maker of large recreational vehicles, announced the retirement of Matt Miller, president of its Newmar Corp. subsidiary, effective Sept. 3.

NONPROFITS

Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa, St. Paul, announced the following new board members: Eric Chien, Nature Conservancy; Shirley Nordrum, University of Minnesota Extension; Michael G. Wulf, Minnesota STEM Partnership, and Nicholas Sannito, Target Corp. Heidi Wiste, a longtime adoption expert, has been named president of Children’s Home Society of Minnesota and associate vice president for Adoption and Foster Care at Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota; both organizations are based in St. Paul. … The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits announced the addition of Kari Aanestad as associate director. She succeeds Nonoko Sato, who was named MCN’s executive director on July 8.

PHILANTHROPY

Ameriprise Financial, Minneapolis, announced it is matching donations to Feeding America in support of the 38 million Americans struggling with hunger. Every dollar donated up to $250,000 now through Oct. 31 will help provide at least 20 meals to families and individuals in need when matched by Ameriprise.

RETAIL

The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove announced the planned addition of retail locations for Planet Fitness and Restore Hyper Wellness.

Calabrio, a Minneapolis-based market research software provider for business, announced the hire of Kristin Gaarder as its first chief human resources officer. … NetSPI, a Minneapolis-based provider of network security software and services for business, announced the hire of Travis Hoyt as chief technology officer.
