Tennessee Tech @ Tennessee
Current Records: Tennessee Tech 0-2; Tennessee 1-1
What to Know
The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles are staring down a pretty large 40-point disadvantage in the spread for Saturday’s matchup. They will face off against the Tennessee Volunteers on the road at noon ET Saturday at Neyland Stadium. The Golden Eagles will be seeking to avenge the 55 to nothing loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Nov. 5 of 2016.
Tennessee Tech has to be hurting after a devastating 26 to nothing defeat at the hands of the Furman Paladins last week.
Meanwhile, Tennessee was first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their game against the Pittsburgh Panthers last week. Tennessee took a 41-34 hit to the loss column. They were their own worst enemy and cost themselves 105 yards in penalties. QB Hendon Hooker put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for two TDs and 190 yards on 23 attempts in addition to picking up 54 yards on the ground. Hooker hadn’t helped his team much against the Bowling Green Falcons two weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
Both teams will surely be fighting tooth and nail to get back into the win column after losses last week. We’ll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
