Like it or not, new modes of transportation, such as autonomous vehicles, are on their way to our city’s streets; it’s just a matter of time. But at the same time, the number of bicyclists in New York has grown significantly over the past decade, and became one of the most preferred modes of transportation during the pandemic. The city should redesign its bike lanes to be wider New Mobility Lanes, followed by the establishment of new vehicle standards. Additionally, the city should implement a complete network of enforcement cameras, which would also include responsible data-gathering and Taxi & Limousine Commission enforcement.
