American Eagle Investment Services will hold a virtual seminar exploring options for health care in retirement on Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 6-7 p.m. “Managing Health Care Costs in Retirement” will feature a representative from Prudential Insurance who will discuss and take questions on financial options related to health care for those aged 65 and older. MCC manufacturing program
Manchester Community College will hold free information sessions today and Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 3-4 p.m., in Room AST C145. Students can ask questions and get answers about the college’s precision manufacturing certificate program. COVID-19 protocols apply. Hoffman Auto Group donates
Hoffman Auto Group was the first to pledge funds to the Officer Lovett Badge No. 201 Educational Fund, according to Mothers Against Drunk Driving Connecticut. MADD CT recently established the fund in honor of South Windsor Police Officer Benjamin Lovett, who died on July 13 as a result of injuries in an accident. Police have said that the driver who struck him had been drinking heavily. Lovett had received the MADD Award for excellence in DUI enforcement in 2020 and was scheduled to receive the award again Sept. 15 at MADD’s Law Enforcement Recognition Luncheon & Educational Symposium at Mohegan Sun, the organization said.
Eversource uses helicopter
Eversource will be using a helicopter to replace the existing line at the top of the company’s transmission towers in parts of Enfield, East Windsor, and South Windsor with a more advanced fiber optic communication wire. The upgraded line being installed will allow Eversource to speed up communications among its electrical substations. Flights began last week and occur intermittently Monday through Saturday until Nov. 5, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 10, from 5 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Enfield Enterprises sells building
Enfield Enterprises LLC has sold 21 Manning Road, Enfield, to 1125 Page Blvd LLC for $1.1 million. The 57,361-square-foot industrial building on 12.79 acres was the former home of Champion Container, which relocated in 2016.
