FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The City of Fort Wayne’s spokesperson says those needing to use their online services will need to call 311 instead as a technical issue has caused the sites to crash.
City spokesperson John Perlich says most of the City and Allen County websites went down early Monday morning following a disk failure in the server that supports the websites.
There is not currently an estimated restoration time, Perlich says.
“Crews have been working diligently on this since the hardware failure,” Perlich said in an email to WPTA21. “However, we have asked the technical team to prioritize overall long-term security of our network over the fastest possible restoration of the websites. While this problem is challenging to all involved, it’s trivial compared to a security breach.”
Those who are needing to access the City or County websites should call the 311 call center, which Perlich says is fully operational, or residents can download the 311 mobile app.
City and County officials still have the ability to send information to the media in the event of breaking news.
