The Orange County Office of Economic Development and Tourism announced plans for the 2021 Small Business Week, scheduled for May 2-8.
Orange County will celebrate its small businesses starting on Sunday. This year’s theme is focused on keeping it local. Residents are encouraged to shop in, dine at and support Orange County businesses. Each day on social media the Office will post facts and tidbits about why small businesses are essential to the community. The Office will distribute digital marketing materials, including a poster to download and display, and a Facebook header to help bring awareness to the community about this week.
The past year has proven to be difficult, the tourism office said in a statement.
“However, the business community has remained strong, and we want to recognize the contributions small businesses make to Orange County by highlighting the importance of shopping and dining local,” said Rose Deal, Economic Development Director.
“The small business community in Orange County is the character that adds to our quality of life and small-town charm. Show support of the small businesses in your community, the impacts of that support are priceless,” said Lori Landes-Carter, Tourism Manager.
Individuals may access the digital business directory at www.buyorangeva.com, which showcases businesses throughout the county, Deal said. Businesses will have the ability to feature services offered, menu items, hours of operation, website, social media links, promotions, photo galleries, and more. Visitors and residents may sign-up to receive update notifications as new promotions appear, Deal added.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to participate along with the hashtags #buyorangeva and #OCsmallbusinessweek while utilizing and patronizing local businesses. Visit ThinkOrangeVA Instagram and Facebook pages for highlights throughout the week.
Businesses looking to collaborate on Small Business Week are encouraged to reach out to the economic development and tourism office at (540) 672-1238. Follow them on social media for more information. @thinkorangeva, @VisitOrangeCountyVirginia.
